Maintenance Supervisor

As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will direct and supervise team of multi-craft hourly maintenance employees in the repair and preventive maintenance of chemical processing equipment, piping, electric distribution, and instruments to continue the safe and efficient operation of chemical production at the facility.

I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position? 

• Accountable for performance in timely and efficient repairs, approved modifications, and preventative maintenance of all equipment, piping, electrical, and instruments to assigned team and areas of the chemical plant. Includes:
  
  • Plan, delegate, and control work assignments, as well as special projects to direct reports.
  • Execute timely execution of daily maintenance plan by assigning required manpower and tools to individual jobs to minimize waste, minimize overtime and effect on overall maintenance schedule.  Provide input to maintenance plan.
  • Coordinate permitting with operations to ensure safety of all affected personnel.
  • Analyze problems of malfunctioning units and provide technical and logistical support to mechanics for each job as needed.
  • Assist in establishing and continued improving of standard maintenance repair and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Request and/or recommend major repair parts, materials, equipment, and other resources for normal repairing and modifications and turnaround jobs.
  • Communicate to all levels of the organization, as appropriate, to aid in the achievement of department, site, and business goals.
• Supervision of hourly direct reports. Includes:
  
  • Maintain appropriate daily staffing level and vacation coverage planning.
  • Establish and manage specific work goals and performance (i.e. quantitative and qualitative standards) to be achieved by direct reports.
  • Document employee attendance and performance issues.
  • Assess training needs and plans for each individual.
  • Ensure adherence to all plant policies, especially safety rules, proper personal protective equipment use, environmental compliance, and workforce rules or codes of conduct.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the hourly payroll reports submitted to payroll.
  • Establish expectations for good housekeeping and ensure assigned areas remain clean.
  • Lead safety, environmental, and quality investigations as assigned through to completion.
  • Participation and documentation of issues, disputes, or grievances as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3-5 years of practical maintenance supervision experience at industrial, utility, or manufacturing facility. Can be supplemented by equivalent combination of acceptable education and progressive maintenance “hands on” experience.
  
  • Preferred: Associates degree in mechanical related program.
  • Preferred: Previous supervisory experience working in a chemical manufacturing organization in a union environment.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment along with managing multiple project/priorities/ tasks 
• Computer proficiency:
  
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS): SAP (preferred), or other CMMS (e.g. Maximo)
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 

Annual Bonus Target: 7%, subject to plan provisions.
