Lead technical development for our textured proteins portfolio

  • Lead research and technical development (ingredients, formulations, specifications) for existing and new textured protein products.
  • Organize and participate in pilot plant and large-scale trials, providing recommendations for process and product optimization e.g. textural and organoleptic properties, nutrition, cost saving.
  • Create or contribute to new initiatives for new product development and improvement of existing products.
  • Perform physical and chemical analysis to evaluate textural and organoleptic properties.
  • Work and interact with product application development teams in order to understand requirement for innovation of textured proteins in food products.
  • Present information to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Work with ICL’s global Front End Innovation to strike technology collaborations

  • Establish and drive strategic R&D collaborations where appropriate
  • Contribute to building a network with suppliers, start-ups, associations
  • Participate in the technical assessment of start-ups
  • Evaluate needs and make decision on outsourcing research and technical projects to universities and technology providers.


Participate in business development strategy for textured proteins

  • Engage and align with commercial portfolio management to build mid-/long-term strategy for textured proteins
  • Understand value creation and market of textured proteins and derive market needs for further differentiation of product offering
  • Work with procurement to benchmark competing products monitoring upcoming developments


Project Management Excellence

  • Hands on leadership of cross-functional teams utilizing global technical experts
  • Manage projects via stage-gate process
  • Ensure project deliverables and scope with the project plan
  • Resolve cross-functional issues at project level
  • Ownership and accountability

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

  • M.S or Ph.D. in Food Technology / Food Science and 10+ years of industry experience in Product Development with the focus “Plant Proteins”
  • Solid knowledge and experience in food proteins, textured vegetable proteins, extrusion processing, product formulation, meat substitutes, analytical testing, and specification systems.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and commercialization.
  • Strong documentation, organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 20-40% travel required
