This position will assist with research efforts in our food ingredients division with an emphasis on applications research in bakery, beverage, dairy, and meat products.

 

Semester Offered: Summer/Fall 2022 (This is a co-op opportunity that will require you to take off school for one semester.)


 
I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position?

  • Assist in research and applications work for food applications (bakery, beverage, dairy, and meat) containing various functional ingredients
  • Conduct data analysis and provide interpretation, draw conclusions from a variety of microbiological, chemical and physical tests
  • Conduct basic analytical testing (pH, Texture Analysis, water activity, moisture, viscosity, etc.) to support product development work
  • Maintains the lab operations: maintains inventory records and other relevant performance data and keeps lab areas and equipment calibrated, clean and operational
  • Participate in site safety activities


What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

 

  • Pursuing a B.S. degree in Food Science or Chemistry related
  • Completed sophomore year in college
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong focus on data collection and documentation
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to relocate upon graduation for a full-time position
