Insurance Manager - Europe

The Role:
We are looking for a hands‑on Insurance Manager to support ICL’s European operations. This is a newly created individual contributor role, consolidating insurance responsibilities previously spread across several teams.
The role sits within the European finance organisation, focuses strongly on day‑to‑day insurance operations and claims management, and works closely with regional stakeholders, brokers, and HQ insurance colleagues. This is not a people‑management role and is well suited to someone who enjoys ownership, operational problem‑solving, and working independently.
The position reports directly to the CFO Europe, with a dotted line to the VP Tax & Insurance at ICL HQ.

The Responsibilities:
Insurance Program Management
- Manage local insurance policies covering ICL’ s European risks, including employment liability, general liability, pollution liability, property insurance, marine cargo, fiduciary liability, employment practice liability, business travel insurance, D&O insurance, crime, cyber,
- Ensure proper placement of local policies and alignment with global programs.
- Interpret complex insurance structures involving high deductibles, self‑insured retentions, and captives.
- Oversee the activities of ICL’ s two captives.
- Overseas premium payments and charges arising from global and local programs to all ICL entities in Europe.
Renewals & Data Coordination
- Procure, prepare, and submit renewal data to HQ and brokers, consistent with the requirements
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
Claims Support
- Assist in handling claims across Europe, supporting documentation and communication.
- Ensure timely reporting and coordination with insurers and HQ.
Risk Advisory & Business Support
- Serve as a coverage advisor to business leaders for potential insurable events, together with HQ insurance team.
- Participate in risk engineering surveys at ICL Europe sites.
- Provide ongoing support to business units and the global insurance team.
Contract & Vendor Risk Management
- Work with the Legal team, brokers and HQ insurance to review and interpret insurance language in contracts to mitigate risks to ICL.
- Maintain standard insurance requirements for vendors in cooperation with HQ.
The Requirements:

Strong hands‑on claims and insurance administration experience.

Solid understanding of insurance fundamentals and basic financial concepts.

Comfortable working independently in a low‑structure environment with minimal day‑to‑day supervision.

Organised, detail‑oriented, and proactive; able to manage multiple small issues in parallel.

Confident communicator, able to work with stakeholders across countries and functions.

Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or asset‑heavy environment is a plus, not a must.
