Location: Home-based – Must reside in Villahermosa Tabasco, Tuxtla de Gutierrez Chiapas, Coatzacoalcos Veracruz.

This Position Reports to: Senior Technical-Sales Manager, Mexico 

 

Overview

The Technical Sales Manager for the south region of Mexico will have the opportunity to build ICL’s Innovative Ag Solutions business from the ground up.  This role will require an entrepreneurial mindset and will be responsible for building and growing the sales of the crop nutrition portfolio including granular, water soluble, control release and liquid fertilizers.  This will include customer relationship management from the distributor to retailer and grower level and a broad portfolio of ICL products.  This role will work closely with segment business development managers, agronomy, marketing, and sales operations to ensure a positive customer experience and the highest level of commercial excellence.  The crop focus for this role includes, but is not limited to, citrus, corn, tomato, peppers, asparagus, berries, onion, papaya, cotton, wheat, grapes, melon, watermelon, sugarcane, beans, sorghum, and others. 

 

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Build relationships with existing retail and distribution clients within the territor
  • Prospect growers and set up demonstration and promotional trials
  • Monitor competitive pricing, promotion, product development, and marketing strategies
  • Expand relationships with new distributors, retailers, growers
  • Develop a sales growth plan for market expansion within the territory
  • Provide technical support to customers on the use of granular, liquid, water soluble and control release fertilizers used in Agriculture.
  • Develop and execute the sales and marketing strategy through our own business plan including management of company funds
  • Provide market insight on competitor activity
  • Produce sales forecasts on annual basis and monthly updates to support ongoing SOP process
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, events, and demonstrations
  • Fully utilize CRM tool daily recording all customer interactions and review company reports to manage the territory
  • Know and understand the financial expectations of the sales budget.
  • Complete weekly trip summaries and monthly activity reports as well as other reporting as requested by management. 

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field preferred with coursework in plant science, soil science, plant health and plant nutrition preferred.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience and demonstrated success with agricultural sales, knowledge and use of nutritional solutions recommendations.
  • Existing distributor, retail, and/or large grower connections within the geography
  • Good at organizing demonstration days and giving seminars on public.
  • Experience developing complete nutrient management programs following Good Agronomic Practices (GAP).
  • Analytical skills including ability to read and understand nutritional values relating to soil, water, and plant material.
  • Must be able to manage personal goals, corporate objectives and keep a customer centric focus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Map Point
  • Must have excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoor setting that may be cool, wet, hot, or dry and could require standing, walking, and lifting of up to 50lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team setting.
  • Enthusiastic problem solver willing to think outside of the box
  • Good knowledge of English, bilingual preferred 
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior and follow ICL policies 
  • Valid driver license

  • Field equipment: CE, pH, Brixmeter, ion-meters NO3, Ca, K, and so on.
