Job Description
This position is responsible for optimizing the transportation of goods by efficiently planning and organizing shipments. Primary duties include planning, coordinating, and monitoring the pickup and delivery of shipments. The Specialist will play a crucial role in the smooth and cost-effective operation of logistics and transportation services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and execute shipments for ICL-IP America using SAP and TMS systems.
• Plan and optimize shipment routes, tender loads, and schedule pickups/deliveries.
• Coordinate with carriers, sites, and Customer Service to ensure on-time shipments.
• Complete and manage shipping documentation and logistics coordination.
• Monitor shipments, resolve issues, and investigate root causes for delays or deviations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns and requests related to shipments.
• Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Support freight payment, cost analysis, and rate estimate/service inquiries.
• Track and trace railcars; manage billing, diversions, and railroad communications.
• Maintain logistics provider relationships and oversee transport capacity acquisition.
• Develop performance reports and collaborate with departments to optimize the supply chain.
• Oversee railcar management, including routes, storage, and shopping processes.
• Execute other duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in logistics/supply chain; chemical industry experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities using data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience collaborating with diverse teams, including global members and third parties.
• Proficient in logistics-specific software (SAP, TMS, WMS) and general business applications (MS Excel, Word), with a proven track record of effective usage.
• Self-directed, process improvement-focused, and adept at managing carrier relationships and understanding transport markets.
• Proven expertise in logistics activities and operations.
Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Salary Range: $58,000-$71,000
Annual Bonus Target: 5%, subject to plan provisions.
ICL Job Level: 13 – 14 commensurate with skills and experience
