Regional Trade Specialist

The Regional Trade Specialist is a critical role within ICL’s Supply Chain, responsible for managing all the processes related to the import, export, and trade compliance of products for the company. The individual in this role will be responsible for controlling and verifying the import and export flows while also communicating information effectively and timely as required by customs brokers, freight forwarders, and interested parties. 

 

To accomplish these objectives, The Regional Trade Specialist should be able to learn, manage and improve existing processes, systems, and communications. Additionally, the candidate must be able to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and successfully implement those solutions within the business.

 

I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position?

  • Effective communication with customs brokers, freight forwarders and customers/vendors to ensure the correct dispatch of export orders and the correct import and delivery of the company’s products within trade compliance. 
  • Collect all documentation required to import and export company products.
  • Import operations tracking; maintain interested parties informed about the status of the imports to US.
  • Ensure the import purchase orders are entered correctly in SAP.
  • Maintain export orders’ bookings and information provided by the freight forwarders updated.  
  • Qualify products for Free Trade Agreements and process Free Trade Agreements forms requests.
  • Support foreign customers/vendors’ inquiries related to the import and export operations. 
  • Documentation and mapping of Import & Export, and Trade Compliance operational processes. 
  • Review and update HTS and Schedule B codes in ICL’s ERP. 
  • Maintain KPI’s information updated. 
  • Collaborate with other company’s departments to improve and maximize import & export processes’ efficiency at the lowest cost possible. 
  • Collaborate with other regions and the corporate office on compliance matters.
  • Execute Americas International Business Strategies to achieve the goals defined for the organization. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution or 1+ years of experience in logistics or international business in lieu of Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Basic knowledge of trade compliance and import & export processes. 
  • Proficient in Excel and other data manipulation and analysis tools.
  • SAP experience or similar ERP system experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support the team. 
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Time management skills with the ability to make timely efficient decisions while staying organized.
  • Ability to travel occasionally if the need arises.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000
 
Annual Bonus Target: 3%, subject to plan provisions.
