Job Description

As the Regional Buyer, Logistics, you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the ICL Buyer position. You will be responsible for the purchasing process of assigned items within our logistics team. This includes ensuring the timely and full supply of items and service as well as being the connector between the supplier-customer service and the need of the sites. In this role, you will get to work closely with the site requester to coordinate supply in accordance with sites and internal business partner needs.

 

Where is this position located?

This position will report into our North American Corporate office based in Creve Coeur, MO working a hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days in office and 2 days from home. 

 

I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position? 

  • Complete Purchase Orders and call-offs in SAP ERP system.
  • Address and solve technical issues from the requisition to purchase order process for goods and services. Maintain Procurement documents, files, and records
  • Assist Sourcing Manager and Head of in reviewing, tabulating, and assessing bids and preparing proposals to vendors. Review, prepare, verify and/or approve financial and business transactions within established dollar limits and guidelines.
  • Administer the purchasing process for assigned products and services including handling supply issues, problem-solving and communicating status to requesters.
  • Responsible for all transactional items related to the purchasing process
  • Issue purchase orders from approved purchase requisitions, select sources of supply as required, negotiate prices and terms and conditions
  • Interact closely and maintain up-to-date contact information with supplier customer service to coordinate supply
  • Follow up on orders to ensure that items are shipped and delivered complete and on time Control purchasing documentation and supplier-customer service communication
  • Assist with supplier management.
  • Create and propose ideas to improve the purchasing process in the assigned items and through ICL Actively participate in sourcing activities for the relevant spend, including support of Sourcing Managers & Head of with project identification, project planning and execution, with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining or improving quality or vendor service levels

 

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 1+ years of procurement and/or logistics experience required
  • Strong attention to detail as well as the ability to maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment Strong Microsoft Excel skills including but not limited to managing data in large spreadsheets and VLOOKUP experience
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong business orientation and understanding of business processes Act with determination and decisiveness
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of an organization Ability to think and act strategically
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver value to the customer

What will set me apart?

  • Prior experience working within an ERP system, preferably with SAP
  • Experience with the coordination and facilitation of various modes of transportation 
  • TMS experience

 

Salary Range: $60,000 - $82,000

 

Annual Bonus Target: 5%, subject to plan provisions.
