Job Description

As the Project Director, you will lead the LFP project execution. The Director must align the project with global strategic ICL initiatives, and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local code requirements. The Director is responsible for the performance of in-house engineering team. The Director will be ultimately responsible for managing all categories of the project including: Project Execution, Engineering, Procurement, Financial Controls, Risk Management, Information Management, Health-Safety-Environment, Quality, Staffing, Construction Management, Check-Out, Commissioning, and Operations. The Director will coordinate with other corporate entities to ensure project is aligned with all functions. The Director will interface with senior level stakeholders on a regular basis. Candidate will provide project management expertise with a general business acumen perspective while managing stakeholders across a diverse interface map.

•    Directly manage a professional staff including the Engineering/Construction Manager, Quality Systems Manager, Manufacturing Manager
•    Incorporate global functions input for project execution; Research and Development; Operational Excellence and Innovation; Global Risk Management; Finance and Control; Value Engineering; Regulatory Affairs; Commercial Sales Strategy; Quality Systems; Information Technology; Cyber Security; etc. 
•    Oversee the development of the design; develop and evaluate feasibility studies for the project; 
•    Develop deep understanding of Department of Energy program; maintain program compliance; navigate ICL successfully through the process.
•    Form connections with government officials and regulators to efficiently achieve required permits and approvals. 
•    Maintain high level of knowledge regarding ICL contractual agreements; advise accordingly
•    Develop and review project cost estimates and direct modifications as appropriate and required
•    Oversee the development of Quality Management Systems and Certifications for the facility
•    Enable the development of Manufacturing plan; including an HR strategy for alignment with labor contract
•    Prepare and/or review expenditure budgets; review the work of consultants
•    Prepare, review, and monitor project controls for schedule and cost
•    Prepare and/or assemble periodic project reports and engineering activities summaries to communicate upward to the ICL Executive Committee and Board of Directors
•    Ensure the project is aligned with business unit objectives and completed safely within scope, cost and schedule
•    Develop and maximize team member capabilities by fostering an environment that identifies talent, provides ongoing coaching and feedback and creates opportunities for growth and development
•    Model and cascade behaviors supporting ICL strategy 
•    Communicate and model good business practices that support the company’s core values

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 
•    Project Management: Candidate must have experience developing Project Charters and Project Execution Plans for projects, and then executing against them. Minimum 7 years of combined project management and construction experience required. 
•    Demonstrated experience managing projects over $300m; preferred in Manufacturing, Chemical, or Industrial applications
•    Project Controls: Candidate shall demonstrate ability to provide oversight in Scope, Cost, and Schedule control on all assigned projects.
•    Engineering experience preferred: Candidate preferred with experience in engineering project management, as well as managing engineering teams/departments. 
•    Health-Safety-Environment: Candidate shall have minimum 5 years of experience managing projects that have complex HSE implications, and demonstrated capability to align with corporate HSE expectations. 
•    Quality: Candidate shall have minimum 5 years of experience managing projects that have complex Quality requirements, and demonstrated capability to align with corporate Quality expectations. 
•    Procurement: Candidate will be required interface with corporate Procurement throughout the project life cycle, from initial estimates through tender and final award. Familiarity with contract administration/review experience is essential.
•    Risk: Candidate should have experience analyzing project risks and managing risk throughout the project. Formal training in risk management is a plus.
•    Business and Commercial, preferred: Candidate preferred with experience in commercial and business development teams to develop financial models for projects. Front end project development and appraisal experience required.
•    Information Management: Candidate should have project experience with client portal/document management systems and/or collaboration application software.
•    Bachelor’s degree preferred; Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical related engineering field; Construction Science and Management; etc. 
•    PMP certification preferred, P.E. registration is a plus
•    5 plus years of experience directly managing others, including plant or multi-plant operations
•    A combination of experience as outlined below in any of the following sectors is preferred: Phosphate Manufacturing, Inorganic Salts Production, Food and Beverage, or Specialty Chemicals.
•    Demonstrated leadership skills including building and motivating teams
•    Demonstrated proficiency with applicable computer software packages
•    Exceptional verbal, written, listening and presentation communication skills
•    Strong work ethic with excellent interpersonal skills


•    Full-time position; additional hours required as dictated by demands of the business.
