Located in the heart of St. Louis, the ICL Carondelet Plant is a key manufacturing facility specializing in the production of sodium, potassium, aluminum, and calcium phosphates. As the Manufacturing Manager, you will provide leadership to the manufacturing team to achieve operating plans through effective people development, cost management, and continuous improvement. You will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations while meeting business commitments. You will support EHS objectives, maintain regulatory and food safety compliance (cGMP), and foster positive employee, union, and community relationships.

Regulatory, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, food safety, and cGMP requirements
- Maintain a safe, substance-free workplace and manage site emergencies
- Ensure required employee training compliance
- Serve as a key member of the Food Safety Team
People Leadership and Culture
- Lead by example and drive accountability for results
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain talent; support performance management and salary planning
- Set clear expectations, provide feedback, resolve conflicts, and recognize performance
- Promote teamwork, employee engagement, and a positive union–management relationship
- Encourage open communication and employee input
Plant Operations
- Meet production and shipping commitments
- Improve overall equipment effectiveness, efficiency, and asset protection
- Align production, maintenance, utilities, and logistics activities
- Support capital projects, plant improvements, and long-range planning
- Manage product portfolio changes and back up the Plant Manager as needed
Cost Management
- Develop and manage budgets; control fixed costs
- Identify and execute cost reduction and efficiency initiatives
- Align capital investments with cost improvement opportunities
- Analyze budget variances and provide contingency planning
- Partner with procurement to drive cost savings
Business Alignment
- Ensure alignment with corporate objectives
- Communicate plant capabilities and respond to customer needs
- Evaluate and implement new product or process opportunities
- Interface with Sales and Technical Services teams
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including supervisory responsibility for production, maintenance, safety, and financial results
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field
- Leadership experience in a union environment preferred
- Experience in multi-unit processing plants preferred
- Knowledge of phosphates/phosphate chemistry a plus
- Demonstrated experience with ISO 9000, ISO 14000, FSSC 22000, and food cGMP a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively across all levels of the organization and deliver clear work instructions.
- Solid financial acumen with experience analyzing cost reports, identifying trends, and developing and managing budgets and forecasts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use data and ERP systems to drive process improvement (SAP preferred).
- Proven track record of identifying and implementing process and operational improvements.
- Effective leader with demonstrated change management experience; able to influence others and lead cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate effectively with teams, and consistently deliver results.
- Flexible, pragmatic, and comfortable operating in ambiguous or changing environments.
- Sound decision-maker, able to act decisively with limited or incomplete information.
- Strong knowledge of continuous and batch manufacturing processes, chemical unit operations, and process equipment.
- Strong computer proficiency, with experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and statistical analysis tools.

ICL Job Level: 16 or 17 dependent on experience
Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Salary Range: $92,000 - $145,000 annually
Annual Bonus Target: 12% or 16%, subject to plan provisions.
