Job Description

As the Human Resources Manager, you will lead the HR function at our Carondelet plant located in St. Louis. The successful candidate will have background that will allow them to provide HR direction and oversite to the plant leadership team and take responsibility for all HR duties for the 165 person unionized site that will expand to 300+ soon.  The HR Manager is a key member the North American HR team embedded with the local business management, providing generalist HR guidance and support, driving the achievement of business goals through workforce development.  This position will serve as part of the plant leadership team as a matrix report to the Plant Manager and a direct report to the VP, Regional HRM.  In addition, over time this position may take on responsibility for one or more off-site locations or business units.

•    A key member the HR team embedded amongst local business management, providing generalist HR guidance & support.
•    Lead the HR, recruiting and community outreach activities at the plant for the new Battery Materials plant being constructed.
•    Be the subject matter expert to management regarding events in employee life cycle events – recruitment, engagement, promotion, transfer, disciplinary, LOA and terminations.
•    Act as a consultant and partner in driving and implementing organizational design, transformation, change management, talent management, total rewards, workforce planning, employee relations strategies and policies.
•    Developing Talent – support talent acquisition efforts as well as training, onboarding and team development.
•    Labor Relations – Responsible for on-going and overall management of working relationship with labor union, including administration of the collective bargaining agreement.
•    Ensure utilization of all HR systems (Success Factors) by managers.
•    Provide leadership in community relations outreach & activities.
•    Perform other various local duties (i.e. unemployment claims, personnel file maintenance, reporting, employee engagement activities, etc).
•    Participate in regional & global HR teams that includes project work and will require limited travel domestically and might include an occasional international trip.

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with a concentration in a Human Resources area preferred.  A SHRM certification may be substituted for the degree.
•    Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of unionized HR plant experience. A minimum of 3 + years HR Generalist experience or 8+ years of progressively more responsible business leadership will be considered. 
•    Base knowledge of employment law (FMLA, ADA, EEO/AA etc) preferred.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Strong influence skills, professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
•    Must be a team player and have the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
•    Detail oriented with proven advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
•    Highly organized with ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Range: $89,320 - $165,880
