As the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating compliance in all aspects of environmental, safety, health, and security.

  • Ensure EHSS compliance through working closely with corporate EHSS, Operations, and HR staff in implementation and maintenance of RC 14001.
  • Serve as liaison with local, state and federal representatives from regulatory agencies including Fed OSHA, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, EPA, DOT, DHS, and local fire department.
  • Maintain and ensure environmental compliance for air, waste water and hazardous waste.
  • Participate in the submission of permit applications (air and/or water and/or waste) and reports as required by environmental regulations.
  • Provide plant EHSS focus through the development of annual EHSS improvement plan/goals and support of programs and audits.
  • Develop, conduct and evaluate required EHSS training for all employees.
  • Ensure accurate EHSS record keeping (i.e. medical records, OSHA Log etc.).
  • Facilitate incident reporting and Learning Teams including report writing and review.
  • Develop and conduct industrial hygiene sampling campaigns, review and analyze sampling results and report as required.
  • Lead and train site emergency response personnel and facilitate emergency response drills.
  • Willingness to work with site and corporate personnel in identifying improvements and optimizing processes through changes to equipment, systems, practices, and procedures.


Physical demands:

  • Stairs and ladder climbing, working in tight spaces and elevated heights, exposure to dust and hazardous chemicals, in hot/cold/inclement conditions.
  • Wearing of PPE including: hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, face shield, hearing protection, fall protection harness.


What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 

  • BS degree in Safety/Environmental Engineering or related field preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of all safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize, plan and coordinate integrated environmental, health and safety programs.
  • Excellent computer skills; expert knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated high level of personal motivation, ability to work in self-directed manner with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

 

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).

 

Salary Range: $66,000  - $90,000 

 

Annual Bonus Target:  5%, subject to plan provisions.
