RtR Accountant (Bucarest Romania, full-time, hybrid)
 

Summary 
We are looking for an eager, engaged, motivated and problem-solving accountant to enrich our operational team in Bucharest as a Record to Report Accountant. Since our future accounting team will interact with and provides proactive accounting and financial support to the businesses as well as to our Headquarter in Netherlands, our ideal candidate should be a knowledgeable, organized, accurate person with a hands-on mentality, solid accounting and tax knowledge with a statutory and corporate reporting experience.
R&R Accountant of ICL Romania will be responsible for taking over an accounting and tax bookkeeping from our external service provider, manage the implementation of SAP system at the local company with the relevant support of HQ team & SAP consultants and in the future for performing a day-to day tax and accounting bookkeeping and building an accounting team in ICL Romania.
He/she will set the flow of documents and processes in the organization as well as internal controls procedures.
As a site accounting lead, he/ she will report to the Eastern Hub Finance Director (located in Warsaw) with a dotted line to Managing Director of ICL Romania with a strong interaction with the Finance Professional, Human Resources and Tax & Treasury departments in Netherlands.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the timely posting of all relevant accounting transactions: journal entries, invoices, recurring accruals and prepayments, payments processing etc.
  • Perform GL account reconciliations and possible adjustments on accruals, payroll, allocation, etc.
  • Manage accounts of payable and receivable, intercompany accounting and reconciliation as well as fixed assets accounting
  • Perform tax accounting and review as well as tax statutory reporting 
  • Supervision of overall operational aspects of the company's activities impacting an accounting and tax aspects
  • Complete on time the month closing activities in line with month end ICL’s schedule reporting and with statutory requirements
  • Ensure financial records are in compliance with Romanian GAAP and fiscal local requirements
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls and uphold company policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in implementation of SAP system to ensure we get the best practice and optimum effectiveness
  • Taking over the bookkeeping from external service provider
  • Establish the new efficient processes and flow of documents in the organization with cooperation of ICL Management

 

Your profile:

  • 4+ years of experience in accounting areas (preferably in an international environment) 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably in Economics or Accounting)
  • Very good knowledge of local accounting standards and tax regulations as well as local reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of SAP system and/or other ERP systems 
  • Communicative English, both verbal and written 
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel
  • Good understanding of internal controls (SOX will be an asset)
  • Capable to see the ‘big picture’ and yet able to resolve day to day issues if required
  • Good analytical skills, process oriented and attentive to details
  • Good communication and organizational skills with proactive and hands on mentality
  • Flexibility, especially in the period of month/year - end closing
