As the Production Operator, you will be responsible for operating packaging and coating equipment, supporting production processes from raw material handling to final packaging and warehousing. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.


ICL Specialty Fertilizers has a manufacturing plant in North Charleston, SC.  The facility manufactures controlled-release fertilizer brands Osmocote®, Agroblen®, and Agrocote®.  The sites currently run 24 x 4 basis and shifts assignments are on a 12-hour basis that does involve occasional overtime, weekends, and holiday coverage as necessary. Given the seasonal demand, the site may run up to 24 x 7 schedule. 
  

I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position? 

  • Operate automatic bagger, palletizer, hand-add station, and fertilizer coating lines
  • Assist Operator I and Lead Operator in daily production tasks
  • Load and unload trucks; cycle count materials
  • Maintain a clean and organized packaging and production area
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts, maintenance, and QA personnel
  • Serve as production leader ensuring coating and blending processes run smoothly
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues
  • Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives


What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and perform cleaning and inspection tasks at elevated heights ranging from 15 feet to 30 feet
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, and computer proficiency
  • 1 or more years of experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Forklift operation experience required
  • Experienced with industry-standard cleaning tools
  • Must be committed to maintaining a safety-focused work environment

  • Prior experience with DCS/HMI systems
  • Inventory management experience
  • Understanding of process control and production overview
  • Experienced in Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Intermediate mechanical experience 

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).


Salary Range: $20 - $30 an hour


Annual Bonus Target: 3%, subject to plan provisions.
