Maintenance Mechanical Planner

As the Maintenance Planner / Scheduler, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime. This role ensures efficient use of labor, materials, and resources while supporting the plant’s overall maintenance and operational goals.

Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, maintain, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
- Schedule maintenance work orders based on priority, resource availability, and operational needs.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production, engineering, and other departments to minimize disruptions.
- Manage and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, assets, and historical maintenance data.
Work Order & Resource Management
- Review incoming work requests, prioritize tasks, and convert them into scheduled work orders.
- Allocate resources, including manpower, tools, and spare parts, to scheduled maintenance activities.
- Ensure accurate documentation of completed work, failure analysis, and follow-up actions.
- Optimize spare parts inventory by coordinating with procurement and storeroom personnel.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Support reliability initiatives by analyzing maintenance trends and recommending improvements.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
- Develop and refine maintenance strategies to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Assist in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to prevent recurring failures.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Promote and enforce safety best practices in all maintenance planning and scheduling activities.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and regulatory inspections.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- High school diploma or associate degree in a technical field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning/scheduling in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- 5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CMMS software (SAP, Maximo, or similar).
- Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
What will set me apart?
- Certification in maintenance planning (e.g., SMRP Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional – CMRP).
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Familiarity with PSM (Process Safety Management) in regulated industries.
Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Salary Range: $30 - $42 per hour
Annual Bonus Target: 5%, subject to plan provisions.
