Maintenance Engineering Manager

As the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the plant’s maintenance and engineering functions to ensure equipment reliability, process efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role involves managing maintenance teams, overseeing capital projects, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance.
This position would be successor to the Plant Manager role.

Maintenance & Reliability
- Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Manage troubleshooting and repair activities for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
- Ensure spare parts inventory is optimized to minimize downtime while controlling costs.
Engineering & Capital Projects
- Lead plant engineering initiatives, including process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Manage capital expenditure (CapEx) projects from scope development to execution, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve plant efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities comply with OSHA, EPA, PSM, and other regulatory requirements.
- Drive a culture of safety by promoting best practices and ensuring adherence to plant safety procedures.
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and develop a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors.
- Provide technical guidance and training to enhance team capabilities.
- Manage contractor relationships and ensure third-party work meets plant standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to optimize plant operations.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- 7+ years of maintenance and engineering experience in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work long periods of time in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Both indoors and outdoors. Standing, walking, climbing ladders & stairs, etc.
- Strong knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management), reliability engineering, capital project management and maintenance best practices.
- Supervision experience.
- Managing capital projects.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with DCS/PLC control systems and instrumentation.
- Good work ethic and ability to provide technical support for a 24/7 operation.
What will set me apart?
- Certification in maintenance reliability (CMRP, CRE) is a plus.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of AI usage within manufacturing / process control.
Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Salary Range: $100,000 to $140,000
Annual Bonus Target: 12%, subject to plan provisions.
