Developmental Operator

Job Description

As the Developmental Operator, you will be responsible for operating the automatic bagger, palletizer, and hand-add station as well as assisting the Operators, learning the process, loading/unloading trucks, cycling counting material, and maintaining a clean and organized packaging area.  The Developmental Operator is expected to communicate with other shifts, maintenance, and QA personnel. 

ICL Specialty Fertilizers has a plant in North Charleston, SC.  This facility manufactures controlled-release fertilizer brands Osmocote®, Agroblen®, and Agrocote®.  The shift assignment is 12 hours and involves occasional overtime, weekend, and holiday coverage as necessary.

•    Operating packaging equipment.
•    Assisting Operator I.
•    Maintaining a clean and organized packaging area.
•    Cycling counting materials.
•    Loading and unloading trucks.

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 
•    High School Diploma or equivalent.
•    Ability to work all shifts, some weekends, and provide shift coverage as necessary.  
•    Can lift 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis.
•    Good communication skills and the capability of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
•    Must be able to solve basic mathematical problems, demonstrate mechanical aptitude, and be proficient in utilizing a computer.

What will set me apart?
•    2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment or related industry.  
•    1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment a related field.
•    Ability to drive a forklift.
•    Prior DCS/HMI experience.
•    Inventory experience.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Annual Bonus Target: 3%, subject to plan provisions.
