About the role
• Set and enforce the necessary safety and engineering standards to ensure the safe and productive operation of assets
• Manage and lead one of the electrical teams at Boulby Mine, providing coaching, guidance and support to electrical staff. Set the standard both technically and professionally, encouraging the required behaviours within their area of responsibility.
• Ensure that maintenance strategies are kept up to date and that they are effective with respect to securing asset safety and reliability.
• Continually identify new technologies and practices that may improve the operation of the business and to implement these as appropriate
• Identify & implement projects to improve operations and manage the risk associated with electrical equipment.
• Submit capital applications for projects and support the implementation of these where required ensuring they are executed in a professional manner and that the necessary processes are in place to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, financial and time-related requirements over the entire project life-cycle.
About you
The successful candidate should be:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards
• Comprehensive knowledge of low voltage electrical equipment including control & automation equipment associated with conveyor systems
• Understanding of the maintenance and operation of high voltage systems
• Extensive knowledge of engineering maintenance techniques to improve machine reliability

What you will be doing
As Electrical Operations Engineer, you will:
Lead and develop a team of electrical technicians, providing coaching, mentoring and technical guidance.
Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring the highest engineering and operational standards are consistently maintained.
Drive asset reliability and performance by developing and maintaining effective maintenance strategies.
Identify and implement innovative technologies and engineering solutions that improve safety, efficiency and operational performance.
Deliver improvement projects that optimise operations and reduce risk associated with electrical systems and equipment.
Manage capital investment proposals and support project delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
Act as a technical leader within the business, setting professional standards and encouraging a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
What we are looking for
A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer status or be actively working towards chartership.
Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, control systems and automation equipment, particularly within conveyor-based operations.
An understanding of the operation and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems.
Extensive experience in engineering maintenance and asset reliability improvement.
Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
A proactive mindset with a passion for developing people and improving performance.
