Control Room Operator

Job Description

In this role you will be intergal in the planning, organising and controlling of Teesdock resources and infrastructure. This includes the controlling of plant using the PROSCON system and the organizing of manpower to meet terminal objectives.

About the role:

⦁    Operating the PROSCON system to control operational infrastructure.
⦁    Instruct the operational and maintenance resource on the requirements of the terminal on an ongoing basis
⦁    Issuing of clearances and permits to work
⦁    Accepting shipping vessels up to 10,000T DWT
⦁    Acting as coordinator in any Emergency Situation
⦁    Standing up as Shift Supervisor when required
⦁    Completing ship loading/unloading paperwork.
⦁    Inspecting and completing of ships when authorized.
⦁    Undertaking electrical isolations (as detailed in the isolation procedure) when authorised.
⦁    SAP input, data collection and report generation to support management and Terminal objectives

About you:

The successfull candidate will:
⦁    Have understanding of the operational capabilities of the terminal.  Must be able to translate that understanding into the safe acceptance of ships to load/discharge at the terminal
⦁    Have good understanding of shipping and the safe loading of bulk carriers.
⦁    Have knowledge of operating PROSCON and Microsoft Software packages.
⦁    Have a good understanding of operational activities, site layout and infrastructure of the Terminal and Ayrton Works would be an advantage
⦁    Have a good understanding of health and safety requirements of ICL 
⦁    Successfully complete  4-day IOSH course.
⦁    Complete a Leadership and Management Course.
⦁    Be fully conversant with Risk Assessment and Method Statements.
⦁    Have First Aid at Work
⦁    Have Level 2 Key Skills which incorporates: Numeracy, Literacy, ITC Or, GCSE in Maths and/or English Language or equivalent qualifications and experience.
⦁    Be a good communicator, both orally and written.
⦁    Have good knowledge of SAP and MS Office applications, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS Access.
