Operations Supervisor

The Operations Supervisor will provide leadership for a manufacturing team with respect to: Effective cost management, ensuring a safe workplace, meeting environmental and health responsibilities, ensuring the right to operate, manage and develop people, operating efficiency, meeting business commitments in an environment of continuous improvement and maintaining positive community relations. The position will be in the acid area.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance / Foster Positive Safety Culture:
- Ensure employees comply with plant fundamental and regulatory training
- Provide safe work environment by ensuring safety goals are established and met
- Participate in the Lawrence Plant safety programs and committees

- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations (OSHA / EPA / FDA)
- Maintain / support contractor / guest safety
- Ensure use of MOC as required
- Must be able to safely and quickly exit the plant in the event of an emergency

Manage Plant Operations:
- Meet production commitments – serve as acid area production planner
- Maintain plant asset effectiveness
- Protect assets (people, property, product)
- Facilitate plant improvements
- Develop / implement long range plans
- Manage plant product portfolio changes
- Optimize utility services (natural gas fired boilers, water treating, etc.) for the site
- Serve as backup railroad coordinator and bulk acid shipping coordinator for the plant
- Oversee ISO container fleet management
- Order raw materials for Acid business
- Manager Acid plant scheduling and timekeeping
Ensure Cost Management:
- Establish budget / manage to fixed cost targets
- Review costs monthly / communicate budget variances
- Pursue cost improvement opportunities
- Provide contingency planning as necessary
Meet Business Commitments:
- Ensure compliance with corporate objectives
- Communicate / advocate plant capabilities
- Communicate with onsite customer about production plans for P4 transfer
- Respond to customer needs
- Manage / participate in customer visits and audits
- Evaluate and implement feasible new product / process opportunities
- Interface with MTS / sales
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline (Chemical Engineering preferred), or a high school diploma/GED with relevant manufacturing experience.
- A minimum 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques including plant operations
- Management and leadership skills
- Analytical and decision-making skills
- Interpersonal and labor relations skills. Interfacing skills at all levels, as well as with external contacts and customer
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Physical Demands:
PPE:
At ICL, maintaining a safe and healthy workplace is a top priority. Employees are required to wear appropriate PPE based on the task and environment. This may include safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face masks, and, when necessary, full hazmat suits with respirators. Adherence to PPE protocols ensures the safety and well-being of all team members. Position also requires the supervisor to be SCBA trained and clean shaven.
Physical Demands:
Ability to regularly move and/or lift up to 50 lbs, wear appropriate PPE, and climb stairs and/or ladders

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Salary Range: $74,0000 - $101,000
Annual Bonus Target: 7%, subject to plan provisions.
