Scientist II Agronomy

Job Description

For our R&D team in Heerlen (The Netherlands), we are searching for a Scientist II Agronomy to become a part of the global R&D team of ICL-Growing Solutions. 
The focus of the Scientist II Agronomy is to help develop completely new generations of products. He/she will be part of a new team which is tasked to develop new breakthrough products to improve growing of plants and crops. Based on unmet needs from the market he/she will help define new product concepts from an agronomy perspective. Through literature searches, interactions with other agronomy experts in the company and end-users the Scientist II Agronomy will help to set the requirements for such a new product concept. 
Supported by other team members of the new team prototypes will be made which then will be tested on small scale on their potential. The agronomic testing can be done in-house or external. Upon proof of the product concept, the project will be transferred to other R&D colleagues for further optimization and implementation.

You will be responsible for:
•    Support the concept development of new generations of products.
•    Literature reviews for new concepts/technology 
•    Defining success criteria for the new products from an agronomy perspective in collaboration with other stakeholders
•    Early phase agronomical testing
•    Reporting and communication about results
•    Project management of projects

Your profile:
•    PhD level Agronomy or a master level with more than 4 years experience is preferred.
•    Experience in soil science, plant physiology and environmental aspects and fertilization is preferred.
•    Experience with project management.
•    Creativity to resolve new challenges.
•    Drive to succeed.
•    Entrepreneurial spirit.
•    Hands-on mentality.
•    Good communication skills and ability to work in multinational teams.

Languages: Excellent knowledge (verbally and in writing) of the English language. Ability to speak Dutch is welcome.
