Utility Operator

Job Description

As the Utility Operator, you will handle all facets of cleaning and waste removal in an industrial chemical manufacturing facility including hazardous, industrial, and universal waste cleanup, accumulation, and shipping, driving forklift trucks, and generally keeping the workplace clean and safe.

Location: This position will be based at our manufacturing plant located in Hammond, Indiana.

• Clean production, office, and warehouse areas
• Clean restrooms and showers
• Clean respirators and safety equipment
• Remove all trash to dumpsters and accumulation areas
• Move materials by hand, crane, and forklift truck
• Pump wastewater and shovel out of hazardous waste pit
• Clean out hazardous waste evaporator and filter press
• Package and label all hazardous waste for shipping
• Sweep, vacuum, and scrub all floors
• Maintain grounds (landscaping, snow removal)
• Manage consumable supplies and dispensers
• Perform routine safety checks: emergency lights, eyewash, and showers
• Assist production, maintenance, shipping, receiving, management
• Other work as assigned
   

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency driving forklift trucks
• Strong ESH cultural awareness
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Experience with hand tools and minor maintenance

What will set me apart?

• Computer literacy; working knowledge of MS Office applications
• Sound technical aptitudes (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
• 1+ years of experience in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment, preferred

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).

Salary Range: Starting at $26.27 per hour 

Annual Bonus Target: 3%, subject to plan provisions.
