Job Description
A Hammond Production Foreman handles all facets of industrial chemical manufacturing: material handling, adding chemicals to mixing tanks and hoppers, tending dryers and mills, packaging and palletizing product, managing automated production equipment using computer-based controls, driving fork lift trucks, keeping workplace clean and safe, and leading other personnel in executing these tasks.

- Lead production crew to execute management directives
- Train new operators according to plan and periodically review the operator's competence on each task
- Execute experimental, scale up, and one-off production tasks
- Diagnose equipment failures, repair if possible, determine workarounds and action plans
- Represent production in meetings
- Move materials by hand, crane, and forklift truck
- Manage production equipment and materials for mixing, milling, drying, and packaging of powders and liquids
- Ensure products are made safely, on time, of good quality, at minimum cost
- Maintain clean work environment
- Assist shipping, receiving, and maintenance
- Other work as assigned
Physical demands:
- Stairs and ladder climbing
- Working in tight spaces and elevated heights
- Confined Space Entry, exposure to dust and hazardous chemicals, in hot/cold/inclement conditions.
- Wearing of PPE including: full face and half mask respirators, hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, face shield, hearing protection, fall protection harness.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency driving forklift trucks
- Strong ESH cultural awareness
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Computer literacy; working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong technical aptitudes (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation, controls)
- Strong leadership skills
- >=1 year experience leading production personnel, preferred
- Must be able to be on foot for full shift and routinely lift 60lbs 5 feet
- >=3 year experience in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment
- Experience with hand tools and minor maintenance
Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Hourly Wage for External Candidates: $34.95
