 In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance improvements and improving reliability; troubleshooting industrial mechanical and electrical equipment including instrumentation. You will also have the opportunity to specify and procure replacement equipment and efficiency improvements.

Mechanical Knowledge/Troubleshooting (Technical Services)

  • Monitor/trend, identify and develop solutions to mechanical equipment issues (accuracy, high downtime, high maintenance cost &/or high quantity of repetitive failures)
  • Provide second level troubleshooting support for tactical maintenance repairs. 
  • Provide technical support (including piping and material specification) with mechanical equipment and process issues.
  • Specify, recommend, and procure existing and upgraded equipment and instrumentation
  • Requires availability for “On Call” process.   
  • Provide fill-in support to maintenance management team members. 

Engineering/Project Support

  • Work closely with production and maintenance personnel, engineering, and external contractors and vendors. 
  • Interface and coordinate with engineering personnel providing input/ideas on projects related to equipment design and needs for projects.

 

Mechanical Integrity Program

  • Administer and provide for support for Process Safety Management with focus on Mechanical Integrity requirements. 
  • Generate management of change documentation for solutions to mechanical equipment problems that deviate from original design. 
  • Perform incident investigations and participate on safety/learning teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in EHS&S performance within maintenance.

 

Cost Control

  • Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities for site.

 

Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (Reliability)

  • Recommend improved processes, programs, procedures, and systems along with recommending enhancements and /or new approaches for improved asset reliability.
  • Manage Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Program including systematically defining, developing, monitoring, and refining the preventive/predictive maintenance process in pursuit of optimization.  

 

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related degree or Associates Degree in Engineering/Science/Technology or a related field, preferred
  • 3-10 years maintenance experience at a manufacturing facility preferred including direct maintenance experience with the following types of equipment/functions: Rotating equipment, preventative maintenance, instrumentation and/or power, predictive maintenance techniques 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Access); Proficiency with SAP is a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as work within a team environment and promote collaboration
  • Work meticulously with attention to detail. Strong integrity and trustworthiness
  • Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control laws and regulations.
