Scope: To support this strategy, you will have the opportunity to conduct laboratory analyses including raw materials, plant process & wastewater samples, and final products to meet manufacturing, technical service, regulatory and shipping objectives. You will evaluate results and reports according to specifications and customer inquiries.  This position will work Wednesday through Sunday or Thursday through Monday.

•    Conduct product testing per sample/analysis plans. Products include raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and Technical Service samples.\
•    Accountable for performance to lab and plant goals.
•    In an accurate and timely manner, test data generated with high integrity.  Document results and review documentation (labels, equipment, readings) and calculations.
•    Maintain accurate and timely analysis reports including entering data in various computer systems.
•    Maintain laboratory equipment including routine maintenance.
•    Complete daily SPC activities and use SPC principles and tools to identify problem areas and areas for improvement.
•    Train other laboratory or plant personnel in analytical techniques and lab methods and equipment.
•    Provide technical assistance to various plant departments relating to analytical procedures.
•    Audit systems and performance.
•    Manage laboratory supplies.
•    Support production process improvement efforts.
•    Retain laboratory samples.
•    Adhere to plant policies, especially Safety Rules and proper PPE.
•    Complete other projects as directed, and all other tasks/duties as assigned.
•    Perform cookbook chemistry
•    Perform bench reactions

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment along with managing multiple projects/priorities/tasks simultaneously.
 •   Understanding of analytical instrumentation (i.e. GC, LC, AA, ICP, pH meter, viscometer, spectrophotometer, colorimeter, densitometer, titrators, balances, resistivity meter, etc.).
•    Familiar with manufacturing processes and operations.
•    Ability to troubleshoot equipment, analytical, and process problems.
•    Motivated and ability to accurately perform large number of tests in a laboratory setting.
•    Must have some understanding of regulatory terminology and forms.
•    Proficient with MS Office and SPC.
•    Ability to work a Wednesday through Sunday or Thursday through Monday schedule.
•    Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control laws and regulations.

•    Knowledge of Quality Systems and Quality Assurance concepts including application of current Good Manufacturing Practices
