As the Chemist, you will conduct laboratory analyses including raw materials, plant process & wastewater samples, and final products to meet manufacturing, technical service, regulatory and shipping objectives. Evaluates results and reports according to specifications and customer inquiries.

I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position?
- Accountable for performance to Lab and Plant goals.
- Conduct product testing per sample/analysis plans. Products include raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and Technical Service samples.
- Test data generated must be timely, accurate, and produced with high integrity. Improper influence or data misrepresentation is to be reported to Supervision or Management immediately.
- Maintain accurate and timely analysis reports including entering data in various computer systems.
- Maintain laboratory equipment including routine maintenance.
- Complete daily SPC activities and use SPC principles and tools to identify problem areas and areas for improvement.
- Train other laboratory or plant personnel in analytical techniques and lab methods and equipment.
- Provide technical assistance to various plant departments relating to analytical procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping standard including clean work areas.
- Dump all lab samples in approved containers
- Retain laboratory samples.
- Adhere to plant policies, especially Safety Rules and proper PPE.
- Complete other projects as directed and all other tasks/duties as assigned.
- Support production process improvement efforts.
- All other duties as assigned.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
- 3 - 5 years working as a chemist.
- Preferred: Prior experience in a chemical manufacturing laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements a plus. Knowledge of Quality Systems and Quality Assurance concepts including application of current Good Manufacturing Practices a plus.
- ASQ Certifications to quality area preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment along with managing multiple projects/priorities/tasks simultaneously.
- Must possess user skills of SAP computer program.
- Motivated and ability to accurately perform large number of tests in a laboratory setting.
- Must have some understanding of regulatory terminology and forms.
- Monday through Friday day position with rotating or fixed weekend schedule and some overtime depending on business needs.
- May require up to 10% travel
- Computer skills – MS Office, Outlook, SAP, SPC & Statistical,
- Understanding of Quality systems including ISO 9000
- Lead Investigations and make recommendations
- Audit systems and performance
- Understanding of Analytical Instrumentation (GC, LC, AA, ICP, pH meter, viscometer, spectrophotomer, colorimeter, densitometer, titrators, balances, resistivity meter, etc.)
- Perform cookbook chemistry
- Perform Bench Reactions
- Familiar with manufacturing processes and operations
- Document results accurately and review documentation (labels, equipment, readings) and calculations.
- Troubleshoot equipment, analytical, and process problems

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Salary Range: $60,000 - $82,000
Annual Bonus Target: 5%, subject to plan provisions.
