As the Production Planner at ICL Fresno, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely production of fertilizer products by managing the production schedule, coordinating with various departments, and monitoring inventory levels. The role involves diligently working with the Product / Production Managers to meet ICL and Toll customers’ needs while optimizing production capacity and resources.


This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the balance between production capacity, material availability, and customer demand, ensuring the factory operates smoothly and efficiently.

Production Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on orders, inventory levels, and forecasted demand.
  • Ensure production plans align with factory capacity, available materials, and staffing resources.
  • Adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate new orders, changes in orders or unexpected disruptions.


Inventory Management:

  • Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory to ensure a continuous supply for production.
  • Work with the Purchasing Department to ensure timely procurement of materials based on forecasts and orders

 

Collaboration with Product / Production Managers:

  • Collaborate with Product / Production Managers to ensure smooth operations, address production issues, and maintain optimal production efficiency.
  • Communicate changes in the production plan, material availability, or any potential delays immediately to Product / Production Managers and or customer.
  • Ensure production processes are aligned with quality standards, timelines, and safety regulations.
  • Incorporate feedback from the Product / Production Manager to adjust production planning and improve overall product quality or yield.
  • Provide and receive regular updates to the Product Manager regarding production progress, timelines, and potential challenges

 

Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:

  • Identify any issues in the production process that may delay the production schedule. Work with Operations, Production, and Maintenance teams to resolve operational bottlenecks and improve flow.
  • Analyze any discrepancies between production output and forecasted demand. 
  • Suggest process optimizations to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve cost-efficiency.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or potential improvements.


Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure production plans adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Work with the Environmental, Health, and Safety team to integrate safety protocols and training into the production schedule.


Key Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in software system SAP, QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective coordination across teams.
  • Understanding of production processes and supply chain management.


What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 

  • Associate’s degree in business, operations or related field and/or equivalent years of education and experience preferred. 
  • HS Diploma required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in production planning strongly preferred.

Compensation at ICL:  If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).


Salary Range:  $70,000 - $96,000
