Shift Manager
Boulby, GB, TS13 4UZ
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Manager to join our team. The Shift Manager will play a crucial role in managing plant production and personnel to ensure optimum productivity and safety within our chemical or mineral processing operations.
The main responsibilities will be:
- Manage plant operations to achieve the aims of the Production Manager (Process)
- Ensure safe working conditions on the plant, adhering to HSE legislation and Working Time Directives
- Lead and develop the shift production team, including process operators, laboratory, and maintenance staff
- Prioritize areas for improvement, troubleshoot issues, and maintain production standards
- Collect, analyze, and utilize process and engineering data to drive continuous improvements
- Communicate effectively with team members and other relevant departments
- Assist in managing departmental budget and resources efficiently
About you
- You bring the following qualifications:
- Adequate, relevant experience in chemical or mineral processing
- Knowledge of Tailings system, Polyhalite, Compaction, Salt, and Rail Loading operations
- Understanding of engineering principles within plants
- Familiarity with customer requirements and quality control measures
- Qualifications in Level 2 Skills for Life (Numeracy, Literacy, ITQ) or equivalent
- HND or equivalent in a Processing or Engineering discipline
- Nebosh National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or willingness to obtain)
