A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a candidate looking to progress their career in Surveyor/Site Engineer. The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience and knowledge of underground environment, gyro surveying, volumetric surveys, levelling and laser scanning techniques. Setting out Engineer experience particularly in deep drainage, knowledge of survey software, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Cyclone, 3D Re-Shaper. 


The role responsibilities:

 

  • Assist the Deputy Chief Surveyor in the production of working plans for the mine.
  • Help coordinate both surface and underground activities of the survey department to be compatible with those of the mine, plant and Teesdock.
  • Assist with the fulfilling of statutory responsibilities of the survey department.
  • Assist with accident/emergency surveys when required.
  • Ensure the underground survey work is carried out to the prescribed safety standards.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are: 
  •     Provided for each task undertaken at the mine. 
  •    Issued to persons undertaking the task/s. 
  •    Reviewed periodically, or as circumstances dictate.  
  • Communicate with and help to organise the work of the Survey Department in updating the mine plan.
  • Assist with the carrying out of Statutory/Check surveys to comply with The Mines Regs 2014.
  • Ensure that plans are prepared in a timely manner to the required accuracy and meet the regulatory standards.
  • Assist with Stock surveys at the Plant, Teesdock, Ayrton and Cobra on a quarterly basis.
  • Support and encourage the use of new systems and techniques by other people in the department.
  • Support the work of the production teams by providing technical assistance.


Required Qualifications / Certificates:

 

  • Degree or HNC in Surveying or relevant subject i.e. Construction or Civils.
  • SMSTS would be advantageous.
  • Effective Communication skills.
