As the new Fitter for our Mining plant in Boulby (part of ICL Potash Division), you will be responsible as part of the Processing Operations maintenance team to ensure all machinery and equipment performs in a safe and effective manner through the diligent execution of maintenance inspections and remedial work derived from such inspections or as operational requirements.


You’ll provide effective feedback to team members and supervision in order to maximise the effectiveness of engineering input. Offer suggestions for improvements, wherever necessary in terms of equipment safety, performance, tooling, design and working practices.

More specifically, you will:

Carrying out risk assessments and implementing method statements where required
Ensuring risk assessments and method statements are suitable and used for tasks being undertaken
Carry out remedial or preventative work according to priorities agreed with colleagues and supervision
Make informed decisions associated with hazard identification and risk management to ensure safe working
Completing pre-use maintenance and inspection of all equipment to be used during operations

To be successful in this challenging role, you will be a Time-served tradesman or hold an ONC/HNC in mechanical engineering with experience in the maintenance of heavy equipment ideally gained in a processing plant or a similar heavy industrial environment. You will have an understanding of process and distribution engineering.
