Join ICL Boulby as part of the Underground Electrical team to ensure all machinery and equipment is installed, commissioned and operates in a safe and effective manner through the diligent execution of maintenance inspections and remedial work derived from such inspections. About the job

• Follow risk assessments and method statements, ensuring their suitability for tasks.

• Utilise the Permit to Work system, issuing permits as required under the relevant authorisation levels.

• Take responsibility for electrical isolations per the isolation procedure.

• Plan, assess risks and execute workload efficiently.

• Make informed decisions associated with hazard identification and risk management.

• Carry out remedial or preventative work based on inspection reports and discussions.

• Provide constructive feedback to maximise team effectiveness.

• Offer suggestions for improvements in safety, performance and working practices.

• Be a flexible and proactive team member, contributing knowledge and experience to the group. 

• Demonstrate self-motivation, discipline and focus.

About you

We are looking for the following experience and knowledge:-   

• You must be a time-served electrician with experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of heavy equipment ideally gained in a processing plant, a mine or a similar heavy industrial environment.

• Understanding of HV/LV distribution systems up to and including 11kV

• Familiarity with computer/PLC control systems plus conveyor and pumping systems would be advantageous

• Level 2 Skills for Life (Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ) or evidence of GCSE equivalent/higher

• A qualification in electrical engineering

• Certification in Risk Assessment and IOSH Working Safely

• Effective Communication Skills
