Biocide Sales Manager

As the Biocides Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and market development for industrial biocide products across the Americas. This role serves as a key interface between internal business units, external partners, and customers, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence in sales, marketing, and product support.

Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with ICL-IP’s business unit (SBU) objectives.
- Manage direct sales to major multinational customers and indirect sales through channel partners.
- Prepare and manage annual sales budgets and forecasts.
- Record all significant customer interactions in the CRM system with written call reports.
- Maintain up-to-date pricing in CRM.
- Collect market analysis information in CRM.
- Provide monthly sales performance reporting and insights.
Customer & Channel Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between SBU, distributors, tollers, warehouses, and end-use customers.
- Deliver product and application expertise to support distributor and customer needs.
- Facilitate technical discussions between customer teams and internal resources.
Product & Market Development
- Collaborate with SBU, IMI, and production teams to develop, register, and launch new biocide products for the industrial water treatment (IWT) market.
- Support marketing initiatives including product bulletins, application data sheets, and promotional materials.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Assist the corporate regulatory team in maintaining product registrations and securing new approvals.
- Communicate customer regulatory needs and support documentation for new applications and packaging.
Operations & Logistics
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and ensure inventory levels meet market demand.
- Coordinate with logistics and customer service teams to optimize supply chain performance.
Contract & Agreement Management
- Negotiate contracts with customers with the assistance of Legal and Management.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain Management on tolling agreements.
- Support legal and regulatory teams in preparing sub-registration, formulation, and relabeling agreements.
- Manage confidentiality and commercial contracts between SBU, customers, and legal teams.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- Educational background – Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering or similar technical background required.
- 5-10 years industrial experience in a technical/marketing/commercial and or sales role within the chemical industry required; ideally operating within biocide products for the industrial water treatment.
- Knowledge and experience working within the FIFRA regulatory framework for pesticides.
- Experience with bromine-based biocides is a plus.
- High degree of self-motivation and self-confidence. Able to prioritize schedule.
- Thorough knowledge of the company’s markets, products, and production processes, with an in-depth knowledge of industry and the customer base.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at all levels, both internally and externally. With the international dimension there is a need to understand and grasp different cultures and business practices.
- This requires good flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills, especially in the areas of negotiation techniques and dispute resolution.
- Computer Literate: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, BI, SuccessFactors, SalesForce (CRM)
- Sound technical and business management skills.
- As a key member of the sales and marketing function the incumbent must have the ability to see long term organizational goals and to motivate others to see the same.
- Ability to travel overnight within the USA up to 30% of the time
Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
Salary Range: $100,000 - $137,000
Annual Bonus Target: 20%, subject to plan provisions.
