Application Dairy Technologist & Technical Customer Support (m/f/d)

As one of our Food Application Technologist for our Dairy business you will be the technical support to our customers, support the introduction of new ingredient solutions to the market as well as propose new project and product ideas to the R&D team. You will be on the road to our customers most of your time to offer support and advice.

About the role
You will be part of a global team of Customer Support Application Technologists and Lab Application Technologists. With a local team of 8 international colleagues and a close collaboration with the 3 other applications labs in Brazil, USA and China. You will technically support our customers around Europe and/or Africa with your knowhow of Dairy and Stabilization system like phosphates or hydrocolloids, as well as introduce new concepts of plant based functional blends. You will be part of our team in Ladenburg, Germany. You can be based on Home Office in Europe, spending 1 week by month in Germany, and the rest in customers visits.

Our customers are Dairy Processing companies (processed cheeses, UHT milk and beverages, Hiprotein and Vegan alternatives…)

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Technical support for our customers and market introductions of new and existing ingredients solutions. 
• Collaboration with application lab technician, engineers, project managers and analytical laboratory staff in the development of new formulations and development of new solutions of ingredients (stabilizers, emulsifying salts). 
• Conducting and leading seminars in-house and on-site at customer locations. 
• Close collaboration with the sales team (Planning, execution, strategy, …)
• Transparent reporting of customers visits & project 
• Participating to the different international exhibitions to highlight the know-how and the product of ICL 

About you 

Autonomous, curious, pragmatic, enthusiastic to learn about industrial technologies and biochemistry, enjoying travels and to meet different customers. For this role we are looking for someone with the right know-how to support our customers. You have a degree in a in the field of Dairy or Food Chemistry. You have a professional experience with the application of food ingredients, additives or in food production (ideally in the areas of processed cheese, milk and dairy products, UHT, milk-based beverages).  

In addition, you bring: 

• Understanding of the dairy and milk products market and the ingredients, additives market 
• Advanced knowledge in the application of phosphates, stabilizers, Milk Proteins and hydrocolloids, or with a strong experience of production, formulation in Processed Cheeses.  
• Willingness to travel up to 70% of your time.  
• Great communication skills; fluent in English and French, German is a benefit. 

Location: Home office possible, based in Europe, with frequent visit (1 time/month) of Ladenburg, Germany site
