As our Technical Manager Flame Retardants (FR) you are part of our global technical team. You work closely with FR Sales managers throughout Europe and report to European Business Director. In this position you are the linking-pin between customers and the sales & marketing organisation and distributors regarding all related technical matters. By presenting our Flame Retardants products, you promote strategy on polymeric and reactive technologies. Besides you support the development of new flame-retardant business in Europe. You support recycling-end of life (EoL) initiatives and represent sustainability image of ICL’s flame retardants.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Provide technical support to the Sales Managers and Distributors in Europe.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand (technical) relationships with customers.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues from customers.
  • Coordinate customer sampling and do follow-up on samples.
  • Being the ‘’tech-link’’ between customers and the technical colleagues in Israel and USA.
  • Collect technical market information and share with internal stakeholders.
  • Participating in standards committees to defend the interests of the company.
  • Handling customer questions regarding End-of-Life topics of FR.
  • Assist in the marketing and promotion of FR products in Europe.
  • Participate in the quarterly meetings, prepare and give presentations at conferences.
  • Handling and follow-up of customer complaints in our Quality Management System (QMS).

Your requirements are:

  • University degree in polymer chemistry.
  • At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in comparable technical positions, preferably in an international environment.
  • Strong preferred expertise in at least 2 of the following fields: Polyurethane foams, Polystyrene foams, Thermoplastics compounding and transformation processes, Thermosets processes and transformation processes.
  • Fluent in English and at least one other European language.
  • Pro-active, service minded self-starter, hands-on personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to travel across Europe frequently, up to 30% of the time.
