For our ICL- Global HERA (Health, Environment and Regulatory Affairs) organization we are looking for a new Regu-latory Affairs Specialist to support our compliance with the Chemical regulations in EU (REACH) and globally.

 
The Regulatory team ensures that products comply with the legislation regarding classification, safety data sheets, product labels and chemical safety. Furthermore, this team handles the registration of products in the various countries worldwide.

About the role: 
As part of the team, you work together with the business and R&D to execute and ensure the HERA policy and regulatory strategy on Flame Retardants (FR) an Functional Fluids (FF) in Europe and Globally (e.g. S. Korea, Turkey and UK) in compliance with the global ICL-IP policy. You will execute these by providing effective management and implementation of systems.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:  

  • Represent ICL-IP business interests within EU and national authorities, taking care of the interests of the busi-ness and active participation in the law-making process. Developing industry strategies and action plans need-ed for e.g., REACH, risk assessment or other regulatory issues.
  • Understanding of human health and environmental toxicity issues of the relevant products in Europe on the full FR/FF product range and the development products in collaboration with head office. 
  • Manage customer enquiries regarding regulatory issues in Europe and globally. Liaise between customers and ICL-IP Sales offices, business units and HERA division.
  • Manage implementation of the Reach Regulation within ICL-IP. Understand the Reach requirements, co-ordinate all registration activities for ICL-IP substances manufactured and imported in the EU, UK and other regions. 
  • Implement ICL-IP’s HERA policies, procedures, and instructions within ICL-IP EU sites. (comment: I think this is a duplication of what was already said)
  • Support the marketing and sales teams regarding regulatory developments and trends in general, environ-mental, and toxicological properties of FR and FF products, in their contacts with customers and distributors regarding HSE the regulatory aspects and education of customers/distributors about regulatory developments in general and about HSE properties of flame retardants in particular.



 

What we are looking for you to bring: 
You have a strong Chemical background with a master’s degree in a related field, if you have a PhD that would be a plus. You bring strong knowledge of the Chemicals Regulatory bodies in the EU (REACH) and preferably globally with a focus on Korea, Turkey, and UK. You have good understanding of the chemical processes related to indus-trial chemical products, its application and exposure scenarios. in (Environmental) Toxicology and Environmental Risk Assessment is a plus.

  • You have many different stakeholders, both internally and externally so it is important you can communi-cate well with all of them. 
  • You work independent, are result-driven and have a flexible attitude. 

 

Languages: Excellent knowledge (verbally and in writing) of the English language. Dutch and/or German language is a plus. 
 

Location: EU HQ, Amsterdam The Netherlands is a preference. At the moment we are working from the office at a voluntary basis and depending on the Dutch regulations we will adjust accordingly. We do expect someone to work from this location.
