ICL European HQ is the home of our Global Procurement Organization (GPO). ICL’s global sourcing strategies, negotiations and approvals of our global procurement contracts are steered and made in this office. For our IT, Professional Services and Admin Category we are looking for a global Operational Buyer. We are a leading global specialty minerals company that creates impactful solutions for humanity’s sustainability challenges in the global food, agriculture, and industrial markets.
About the role
In this role you will actively participate in the Indirect Procurement - IT, Prof. Services & Admin category procurement activities. You will work closely together with the Global Sourcing Managers who are responsible for the global sourcing strategy for a specific subcategory. Your day-to-day job will be doing procurement operational activities such PR to PO process , doing RFQs , working on rate agreements and supporting sourcing managers in contracting activities and any other supporting tasks for the procurement team.
As a Operational Buyer, you have a key role in our organization. You will interact with sites, suppliers and colleagues from multiple ICL sites.
Main responsibilities:
• Operation activities for Indirect Procurement - IT, Prof. Services & Admin category.
• Support Sourcing Manager in category strategy initiatives and framework agreements etc.
• Carry out analysis of the data for better decision-making process
• Operational Procurement Activities- RFQ, PR-PO conversion
• Maintain procurement documents, files and records, Invoice verifications
• Assist sourcing managers in tabulating bids and preparing proposals, and provide general office support
• Issue purchase orders/call-offs.
• Follow up on orders to ensure that services are delivered on time.
• Address & solve issues during the sourcing process.
• Analyze processes and share learnings within the organization.
• Negotiate with suppliers to get the best price
• RFI/ RFQ process adherence
• Resolve payment related issues.
• Assist the Global Sourcing Managers in preparing and coordinating bids, provide them with relevant information.
• Review, prepare, verify and/or approve financial and business transactions within established frameworks and guidelines.
About you
To be successful in this role you should have
• A bachelor's or master’s degree with reasonable understanding of procurement processes
• 2–5 years of experience in operational or tactical procurement
• Hands-on experience with SAP PR-to-PO execution (or similar ERP systems)
• Exposure to IT and/or Professional Services procurement preferred
• Strong understanding of basic contractual terms and commercial principles
• High attention to detail, strong process discipline, and ability to manage high transaction volumes
• Comfortable working across regions, cultures, and time zones
Languages: Excellent command of English is required.
Location: EU HQ in Amsterdam.
