Job Description

In this role your goal will be to lead procurement of mechanical equipment needed for our mining activities around the world. 
You will be responsible for setting up and implementing ICL’s global procurement strategy for mining and mechanical equipment
and generate reduction in the total cost of ownership. You are going to lead tender processes for mining consumables, parts and equipment used in mining industry.
You will be working in a team of Global Sourcing Managers and Operational Buyers in this sub-category and report to the Head of Procurement - Mining & Large Capital Equipment.


Tasks and responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the strategic sourcing activities with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining or improving service quality or vendor service levels;
  • Identify, evaluate & select suppliers, negotiate and close framework-agreements;
  • Drive product demand optimization throughout ICL via collaboration with the relevant ICL units;
  • Maintain and develop in-depth knowledge of suppliers, markets & trends;
  • Perform best-in-class negotiation processes via analysis of supply & demand trends; 
  • Establish and manage global/regional relationships with suppliers (30% travel is part of the job); 
  • Monitor performances of vendors and their compliance with their commitments;
  • Address & solve operational issues with suppliers;
  • Provide guidance and guidelines to the regional/local procurement personnel.


Your profile

  • Degree in Mining- or Mechanical Engineering highly preferred;
  • Background of 3-5 years of experience in  procurement or  in mining industry
  • Understanding of mining and mechanical equipment markets is desirable;
  • Demonstrable track record of success in managing complex, cross-functional activities and developing/executing key procurement processes;
  • Strong negotiation, leadership and supplier relations skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively, and in a matrix management style organization;
  • Strategic thinker and pragmatic worker.


Languages: Excellent command of English is required. Spanish language is desirable.
