Maintenance Technician

As the Maintenance Technician, at ICL Growing Solutions, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of equipment and facilities at our Adel plant. Your technical expertise will ensure safe, efficient operations and support our high standards of production and compliance.

I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position? 

• Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment issues; replace faulty components as needed.
• Emergency Response: Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform and document scheduled maintenance activities to keep equipment running optimally.
• Equipment Reliability: Maintain equipment in top condition and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and maintenance procedures.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities meet OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
• Tools and Equipment: Safely operate cranes, hoists, hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Collaboration: Work with operations and other departments to resolve equipment issues.
• Inventory Management: Maintain parts and tools inventory for timely repairs.
• Documentation: Keep accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Additional Duties: Operate machines as needed for troubleshooting or to support production during peak periods.

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience & Technical Skills: 

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent technical education and work experience.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings; preferred.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills (480 volts and lower); preferred.
• Basic familiarity with instrumentation (level, flow, temperature), PLCs, and HMIs.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of conveying systems, rotating equipment, fans, pneumatics, and packaging equipment.

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs, and enter confined spaces.
• Welding skills (stick/MIG; stainless preferred) a plus

Communication Skills: 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively across teams.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
At ICL, maintaining a safe and healthy workplace is a top priority. Employees are required to wear appropriate PPE based on the task and environment. This may include safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face masks, and, when necessary, full hazmat suits with respirators. Adherence to PPE protocols ensures the safety and well-being of all team members.

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).

Salary Range: $22 - $31 per hour

Annual Bonus Target: Harvest and Christmas bonus
