For this role in our Analytical R&D and Ingredient Science (ARDIS) Team you will bring a high value to the R&D Phosphate Specialty Department. You will be part of a team, which consists of highly qualified and experienced scientists and lab technicians and is part of the Global Research & Development organization. The ARDIS team supports colleagues worldwide with its expertise in the field of chemical analysis, ingredients and their synergies and contributes significantly to the success of innovative research and development projects.


Tasks and responsibilities 

  • First contact person for all questions relating to inorganic ingredients in ICL’s technical (e.g. batteries, paints & coatings, cosmetics, construction materials) and food (e.g. bakery, meat, dairy) products
  • Consultation for material and surface analysis as well as their properties, e.g. SEM, XRD, ESCA/XPS, SIMS/TOF-SIMS, Porosimetry, DSC, TGA-MS
  • Responsibility to investigate emerging methods and technologies i.a. for down-scaling of processes
  • Establishing a market overview of relevant raw materials and products 
  • Investigation of interactions between inorganic components and other ingredients in our technical and food products
  • Project management of large scientific projects with interdisciplinary and international, internal and external project partners and stakeholders
  • Development, validation and execution of new analytical methods on highly complex analytical devices
  • Planning, execution, and evaluation of sophisticated analytical experiments and functional testing
  • Preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external meetings
  • Establishment and maintenance of a network of external partners (universities, institutes, consultants, labs etc.)
  • Literature research and patent analysis, patent filing
  • Collaboration in a global R&D team


About you 
This is a role that needs a min of 5 years’ professional experience in the manufacturing industry of related products. You have a degree in a relevant field like Chemistry, Food Chemistry or similar. Direct experience with a food manufacturing company or any closely related industry is preferred. 

 

In addition, you bring, 

  • Comprehensive Expertise and know-how in the field of material and surface characterization as well as functionality, and behavior of inorganic components in minimum one of the above-mentioned application fields
  • Knowledge on production processes and their impact on powder properties
  • Experience in the execution of Project Management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German mandatory
  • Work experience in patent analysis and patent filing is a plus
  • Self-organized, self-motivated, and proactive way of working
  • Organizational talent and assertiveness 
  • Precise and responsible way of working
