As the Onsite IT Technician you will be responsible for:


  • Providing customer focused personal computing support for all hardware and software products for local users or users visiting their respective plant location.
  • Collaborating with regional Infrastructure team and report directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
  • Problem-solving complex situations using a wide variety of internal and external resources. 
  • Comfortability being available after hours and on weekends on occasion.
  • Conception, implementation, and operation of local IT solutions on a functional level, as well as enhancements of the existing local environment. 
  • Assisting in planning and implementation of Infrastructure IT projects and optimizes the working environment for the users.
  • Planning and installation operation and maintenance of Microsoft Windows and Linux / Unix server systems.
  • Administration and maintenance of local File and Print-Services, Lync Enterprise, SharePoint 2010, Remote Desktop Services.
  • Monitoring of server and network environments.
  • Administration of local VMWare Server virtualization environments and storage systems.
  • Simplification and optimization of the working environment for mobile users.
  • Supporting service requests and trouble-shooting within the 1st level support.


What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?


Required Qualifications:

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of general IT operational experience.
  • Working experience with Microsoft and Citrix technologies and products.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Service oriented thinking and customer focused orientation as well as a demonstrated ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365.
  • Service Ticketing System Experience. 
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and security architectures.
  • Knowledge and expertise working with Microsoft Client/Server operational systems and applications.
  • Handling of common software and platform technologies.
  • Knowledge with the analysis and the implementation of target architecture.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills (fluent written and oral English language skills).
  • Planning, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of the organization’s infrastructure service.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control laws and regulations.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical degree or professional certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with working in international and distributed IT environments.
  • BMC Remedy Experience.
  • Networking experience, including wireless networks.
