To work as part of the Underground Engineering Department to ensure all machinery and equipment performs in a safe and effective manner through the diligent execution of maintenance inspections and remedial work derived from such inspections or as operation


Required experience & knowledge:


Carry out remedial or preventative work according to priorities agreed and within their scope of competence
Provide effective feedback to team members and Foremen to maximise the effectiveness of engineering input
Offer suggestions for improvements, wherever necessary in terms of equipment safety, performance, tooling, design and working practices
Be an effective team member with the ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the team. To use knowledge, initiative and experience to the benefit of the group and to be approachable and forthcoming with ideas
Demonstrate an interest in personal development and to participate effectively in training sessions as and when required
Be self-motivated, disciplined and focussed
Participate in risk assessments and method statements where appropriate


Required Qualifications/Certificates:


Level 2 Skills for Life which incorporates:
Numeracy
Literacy
ITQ


or evidence of GCSE equivalent/higher


Time Served apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline
HNC in mechanical engineering desirable
Risk Assessment
IOSH Working Safely
Effective Communication Skills
