About the role


As our new Paralegal Compliance & Regulatory Europe, you will work with our Legal & Compliance Department to support the implementation of our compliance and ethics programs in Europe. In this role, you will provide practical support on compliance matters, such as in the area of due diligence screening and third-party management. You’ll need to identify and escalate matters requiring further review in accordance with our compliance programs and regulatory framework. 

 

Working with the Head of Corporate EU, you’ll support the various business units in with regulatory compliance and you’ll conduct research and analysis of relevant EU legislation, such as chemical, fertilizer, environmental and food ingredient regulations, and its impact on our business. 

 

More specifically, you will

  • Support our Compliance-and-Regulatory staff to help operationalize ethics and compliance policies, procedures, and regulations along safeguarding an environment in which the ethical and compliance culture is sustained and strengthened.  
  • Help ICL comply with various policies and regulations, while keeping close eye on the current and future business needs.  
  • Conduct third party risk assessments and perform compliance screening using Risk Rate, RDC and AEB or similar tools as well as performing (Google) Searches.
  • Identify, research and escalate compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Research and monitor regulatory changes, support the business with interpreting, relevant (EU) directives and other regulations and help to evaluate the impact on specific business units and product categories. 
  • Providing legal input on advocacy communication towards the European Commission. Support the Compliance & Regulatory functions with composing reports, preparing summaries or internal presentations on regulations or key compliance issues and to maintain and update compliance/regulatory databases.

You work diligently and efficiently, and you are able to effectively handle requests for information and follow up in a timely manner. 

 

To be successful in this challenging role, you’ll bring

  • A Law degree or legal training/experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years relevant experience supporting a legal and/or compliance team
  • Affinity with Regulatory and Compliance matters
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to reproduce, assess and summarize complex information
  • Experience with EU regulation interpretation and research
  • The ability to work independently
  • Solid, practical judgment with respect to risk assessments and compliance issues 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
