Operational Buyer

As our new Global Operational Buyer you will actively participate in the sourcing activities with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining or improving quality. You will work closely together with the Global Sourcing Managers who are responsible for the global sourcing strategy for a specific subcategory or project. Your focus will be split across long term projects such as assisting in preparing and coordinating bids as well as operational activities such as monitoring the purchasing process and negotiate with suppliers.
You will have a key role in our organization. You will interact with sites, suppliers, and colleagues from all over the globe on a day-to-day basis. This position would be great for further pursuing your procurement career.
Your main tasks
- Identify, Evaluate & Select suppliers, negotiate and close framework agreements for Global & specific region for Products and Services under the Procurement Tech & Maintenance Equipment Sub-category.
- Support the Sourcing Manager with CAPEX procurement activities and perform data analysis to enhance decision-making.
- Manage operational procurement tasks, including RFQs and PR-PO conversion.
- Maintain procurement records, verify invoices, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Maintain and develop in-depth knowledge of suppliers, markets and trends.
- Perform / Participate in best-in-class negotiation process via analysis of supply & demand trends.
- Resolve payment-related issues efficiently.
- Review, verify, and approve financial and business transactions within guidelines within established Frameworks.
- Frequent travel to suppliers and sites for projects, building relations and negotiation of prices and contracts.
About you
To be successful in this role you have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field like Engineering or Business Management with the right amount of relevant procurement experience that is needed to bring high quality procurement to this role.
Additionally, you bring the following:
- Capabilities of assessing category spend base and project management.
- Experience in working in an international environment.
- Understanding of PR-PO Cycle and SAP MM.
- Negotiation skills and result driven personality.
- Ability to work collaboratively and in a matrix management style organization.
Languages:
Fluency in English is essential, with additional preference for candidates who are proficient in other European languages. Hebrew / Dutch/ German language would be an added advantage.
Location: You will be based at our EU headquarters in Amsterdam, working on-site for 3 fixed days per week, with the option to work remotely for 2 days.
